These primary characteristics of the archon balanced interconnect are being achieved as a result of applying our sToa 8 evolution technology to it. The sToa 8 evolution technology is a combination of our sToa 8 and our self-shielded technologies plus some improvements giving a lower cable resistance without increasing the capacitance. In contrast we achieved an even lower capacitance along with high thermal, chemical and mechanical stability. The result is an extremely efficient cable, easy to drive and almost "not there" that takes you closer to the music than ever before.

The archon is a light flexible shielded triple-core balanced interconnect cable in a luxury black-gold color. It is composed of three heavy signal conductors that are specially made of 99.999% (5N) extra soft temper pure fine silver, which has the best conductivity of all metals.
By using individually insulated solid core conductors we eliminate strand interactions multi-stranded cables suffer from.
The manufacturing process eliminates the conductors surface mechanical anomalies improving the electrical signal transmission properties, thus giving extremely low distortion, especially in high frequencies.
In addition, each one of them is perfectly cleaned in a two-stage cleaning procedure. In the first stage a strong cleaning process eliminates corrosion, and polishes the surface in order to increase conductivity. In the second stage, by using a special liquid we make a deep final cleaning of the subtraction remains from the first stage, preparing the conductor surface treatment.
To eliminate the problem of silver corrosion in the course of time, a thick liquid treatment oil is being used, specially designed for this purpose. The same oil is standardly applied to all our pure silver conductors. The result is a time-lasting stable product capable of avoiding chemical attacks, protected from atmospheric pollutants. This liquid treatment also works:

As a metal to dielectric suspension, reducing the vibrations coming from the current running through the audio cables and the loudspeakers themselves, rendering any microphonic effects (time-related distortion) insignificant.
As a lubricant, reducing dramatically the friction between the silver conductor and the dielectric tube avoiding the static electricity (conveyance of electrons) distortion.

By using a specific process, each end of our silver conductors is perfectly polished, thus becoming elliptical to avoid electric evacuations.
The insulation tubing of the three silver conductors is made of PTFE, which is the original Teflon® formulation and has the lowest dielectric constant of all plastics. In addition a specially made treatment lacquer is applied directly on the Teflon® conductors insulation tubing after their crossing process according to the third principle of sToa 8 evolution technology.
A very flexible PVC layer is applied over the three separately insulated pure silver conductors stabilizing the entire system and providing excellent flexibility, electric insulation, and durability. This layer is independently hanging to the connectors using our patented Elastic hanging mechanism, offering significant advantages thus rendering archon cable practically uninfluenced by any alteration in the wires metal structure.

The external shield screen consists of metallized braided mylar sleeves reducing and practically eliminating the external Electromagnetic (EMI) and the Radio Frequency Interferences (RFI) signals, grounded only at one end of the cable in order to avoid the creation of a parallel circuit (ground loop). This advanced screen drains away all unwanted noises to the ground of the signal source.

Total cable capacitance (tendency to 'swallow up' the alternating changing voltage) including shield and connectors, one of the most important electrical properties of an analogue interconnect cable, remains remarkably low for a shielded cable at 22 pF/meter!

The signal direction is indicated by an arrow printed in the outer label of the archon cable. The printed arrow indicates the direction of the signal flow.
Total cable weight remains remarkably low (72 gram/m) in order to protect your delicate equipment sockets.

Combining superior transmission quality, a very high screening factor and a significant flexibility along with high durability, low weight, very low capacitance and stable operation temperature level, the archon is also excellently suited for use as a reference microphone cable in critical professional recordings.

The archon balanced cable is now available with gold plated XLR high quality connectors (neutrik). Before lead-free and halogen-free soldering, using high purity, 4% silver solder, we apply pressure to stabilize the conductors and ensure a suitable low resistance mechanical contact. The process of melting and solidifying takes place within narrow temperature ranges so that the surface of the solder joint remains smooth and corrosion protected. This connecting method seems to provide the best signal transfer results.
A thick liquid treatment oil is applied on the solder surface as well as on all our XLR connectors to eliminate corrosion increasing contact electrical stability. Before packing we use our Cables Demagnetizing Method neutralizing all metal and non-metal parts on them in a three-stage procedure.

Finally, as with all our cables, archon is being carefully checked and separately measured and test it by a highly skilled master technician in our laboratory to ensure a reliable product, offering a remarkable upgrade to your beloved system.
Archon is carefully packed in a luxury real wooden box specially designed to protect this cable and prevent any damage. Each of our wooden boxes has a unique serial number same as the cable.
